Join Us in the San José-Okayama Sister City Organization

We welcome you to join our Sister City group. We offer the opportunity to join in activities that bring the people of two nations together with personal contact and fellowship through activities. For over fifty years, individuals have been making a difference in the lives of others and you can do that too.

Our organization provides support to the City of San Jose in this long lasting relationship with Japan. When they can, they assist our program with reimbursements for certain items. We generally carry out fund raising through activities in the year. This gives us the ability to have programs that are appropriate for public support and the ability to have special programs such as when we send an individual to Japan. We collect a yearly dues of $15 for an individual, usually paid in March. Our group membership period allows us to change our yearly plans and sometimes our officers two months before the end of the San Jose City fiscal year. This gives us time to plan activities for the next year and to be able to tell the City what we want to do. This membership fee provides us with incidental income that we may use for things like mailings, stationery or maybe paint for a project.

We provide a family membership for only $25 and of course if a business wishes to provide financial support through membership, we do that as well. To start going as a member, click on the Membership link. Whether you pay by check, cash (at a meeting) or credit card, we will issue you a reciept and acknowledge your membership status.
